Wikipedia is a free web based multilingual encyclopedia project supported by the non profit Wikimedia fountain.
It contains 15 million articles that have been written by volunteers all over the world.
Wikipedia was launched in 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger and is currently the largest reference work on the Internet.
I had no idea what a wikipedia was until i needed to look up the meaning of a word and this page that i googled arose..
and once i browsed around the website it became something i turn to often when needing a hand with an explanation.
